Blackjack is only second in popularity to Poker when it comes to gambling card games. The game’s other common name is twenty-one and is
played between several players against a dealer. The game involves comparing cards between players who are competing against the dealer.


Blackjack originated in France in the 1760s. The game, which was called Vingt-et-Un, then evolved and spread over the centuries to many countries. Blackjack especially gained prominence during the World War II. Today, there’s hardly an American casino you won’t find it in.

The dealer is usually in control of shuffling the cards, dealing them and handling the bets. One or more 52 card decks are used in the game.
